A Building Code of Australia (BCA) Report is a technical assessment that evaluates the compliance of an existing building or structure against the requirements of the National Construction Code – Building Code of Australia.
BCA reports are commonly requested by local Councils in situations where a compliance assessment is required—such as when applying for a Building Information Certificate (BIC) when unauthorised works have occurred. However, a BCA Report can also be useful in due diligence assessments or pre-approval planning.
A professionally prepared BCA Report is designed to provide Council—or other stakeholders—with clear, factual information regarding the building in relation to the Deemed-To-Satisfy provisions of the BCA.
Our Certifiers have an in-depth knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and can deliver comprehensive, easy-to-understand BCA Reports tailored to your project needs.
NOTE:
1. As our registration is restricted to residential building work, we provide BCA Reports for Class 1a & 10a buildings only. We do not provide BCA reports for Class 2-9 commercial buildings.
2. BCA Reports are a consulting report only & are not 'certification work' under the EPA Act 1979.
3. A BCA Report advises of the facts, so there is no guarantee that a BCA Report will be accepted by Council.
4. A BCA Report does not guarantee that Council will issue a Building Information Certificate for the unauthorised works.
